Test Your Build's Accessibility for Colorblind Players

Why Accessibility Testing Matters

If you're building structures, farms, or systems that rely on color coding—like sorting systems with colored wool or redstone contraptions with color-coded indicators—you should verify they're usable by colorblind players. Colorblindness Shaders lets you see exactly what they experience.

Testing Color-Coded Systems

Cycle through each vision mode (Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia, and Achromatopsia) while looking at your build. Ask yourself:

  • Can I still tell different colored blocks apart?
  • Are dyed items or blocks distinguishable from one another?
  • Would a colorblind player understand the purpose of color-coded sections?

Improving Your Design

If colors become indistinguishable in any mode, consider adding non-color indicators: texture variety, different block types, signs with labels, or spatial separation. This makes your build functional for everyone.

Documentation

Take screenshots in each vision mode to document how your build appears. This helps you remember which areas need adjustment and serves as a reference for accessible design principles in future projects.
