Craft the insulated minecart

Combine a minecart with the crafting_shaped Minecart Insulation recipe to produce a Minecart with Insulation. This variant protects its contents from temperature extremes along the rail line, which matters when your track crosses a desert, a snowfield, or passes near lava.

Place the Minecart with Insulation on your rails the same way as a normal minecart. Load it with items you do not want to spoil during transit.

Support the route with climate blocks

Long rail lines pass through many biomes. At each station, install a Thermolith to create a stable temperature zone where you can stop, unload, and rest. A Soulspring Lamp works as a portable alternative if you cannot build permanent stations.

For bases at either end of the line, add an Icebox to store heat-sensitive goods and a Boiler to process materials on site. A Smokestack above the Boiler keeps exhaust away from your storage area.

Keep a Thermometer and a Filled Waterskin on you during the trip. If the reading drifts, stop at the nearest Thermolith and wait. The insulated minecart protects its cargo, not you — your own temperature still follows the biome you are standing in.
