How to Manage Heat in the Nether with Cold Sweat
Cool Your Body Before You Burn
Entering the Nether with default gear overheats you fast. Build a Thermolith and place it near your portal to track heat, then carry a Filled Waterskin and drink from it to drop your temperature. A Slush Bucket placed and stood in cools you further when heat spikes.
Wear Heat-Resistant Gear
Craft Hoglin Hide armor pieces — Hoglin Headpiece, Hoglin Tunic, Hoglin Trousers, and Hoglin Hooves — at a Sewing Table. These are your Nether set. Combine them with a Goat Fur Parka only if you plan to leave the Nether quickly, since Goat Fur insulates and will cook you in lava biomes.
Set Up a Cool Zone
Place an Icebox at your Nether base and keep it stocked. Stand near it to shed heat between trips. A Hearth placed on the Overworld side of your portal lets you warm back up before returning, so you do not arrive already hot.
Emergency Cooling
If your Thermometer reads critical, retreat to the Icebox or a Slush Bucket. Do not sprint in full Hoglin Hide across basalt deltas — the gear resists heat but does not eliminate it. Drink from the Filled Waterskin on cooldown and refill it at a Boiler or water source before re-entering.
