How to Craft Insulating Armor at the Sewing Table

Gathering Materials

Two armor lines exist: Goat Fur for cold and Hoglin Hide for heat. Goat Fur comes from goats; Hoglin Hide comes from Hoglins. Both sets are assembled at the Sewing Table, not a normal crafting table. Place a Sewing Table and open it to see the armor recipes.

The Two Sets

Cold set: Goat Fur Cap, Goat Fur Parka, Goat Fur Pants, Goat Fur Boots. Heat set: Hoglin Headpiece, Hoglin Tunic, Hoglin Trousers, Hoglin Hooves. Each piece covers one armor slot, so a full set means four items. Wear the set that matches the biome you are entering and remove it when you leave — wearing the wrong set works against you.

Boots and Extras

Chameleon Scale Boots, Chameleon Scale Chestplate, Chameleon Scale Helmet, and Chameleon Scale Leggings form a third armor set made from Chameleon Molt. Chameleon Molt is dropped by Chameleons, which you can spawn with a Chameleon Spawn Egg. Sew the Chameleon Scale pieces at the Sewing Table the same way. Pair any set with a Thermometer to confirm the temperature change, and keep a Filled Waterskin on you for on-the-move adjustments. Repair or replace pieces as they wear out so your coverage stays complete.
