Build the Hearth

Gather the materials for the crafting_shaped Hearth recipe. Once placed, the Hearth acts as your cold-weather anchor — it radiates warmth in a radius around it. Position it centrally in your base so sleeping quarters, storage, and the Sewing Table all fall inside its range.

Pair it with cold-weather gear

Stand near the Hearth while wearing Goat Fur pieces: Goat Fur Cap, Goat Fur Parka, Goat Fur Pants, and Goat Fur Boots. The Hearth slows heat loss; the Goat Fur set reduces it further. Together they let you work outdoors in snowy biomes without constantly retreating.

Use the Sewing Table to assemble or repair your insulated armor. Keep a Filled Waterskin nearby — hydration affects how long you can stay warm before your temperature drops again.

If you travel far from the Hearth, bring a Thermometer and watch the reading. When it falls toward the cold end, return to the Hearth or switch to Chameleon Scale pieces for a lighter insulation layer. The Chameleon Scale Helmet, Chameleon Scale Chestplate, Chameleon Scale Leggings, and Chameleon Scale Boots trade some warmth for mobility, which suits scouting trips where you return to the Hearth often.
