Crafting and Using the Hearth, Boiler, and Icebox

The Three Temperature Stations

The Hearth, Boiler, and Icebox are your core climate blocks. The Hearth warms you when you stand near it — use it in snowy biomes, at night, or after swimming in cold water. The Icebox cools you — use it in deserts, jungles, and the Nether. The Boiler processes water-related recipes, including purifying water for your Waterskin.

Building and Placing Them

Craft each at a Sewing Table or standard crafting grid depending on the recipe you have unlocked. Place the Hearth and Icebox where you spend idle time — near your bed, storage, or portal. Keep them apart so you do not cancel each other out. Place the Boiler near a water source so you can refill the Waterskin and produce Filled Waterskin without walking far.

Reading Your Thermometer

Hold a Thermometer to see your current temperature. When the reading climbs, move to the Icebox. When it drops, move to the Hearth. Use the Thermolith as a fixed reference block if you want a permanent readout at a base.

Supporting Blocks

A Smokestack vents heat from a Hearth setup so it does not over-warm a room. A Soulspring Lamp and Soul Sprout provide light without adding heat, useful around your Icebox station.
