Apply Custom Colors and Tinting to GUI Elements
Using the Color Tinting System
Code Defined Gui Mod includes built-in color tinting that lets you recolor standard textures without creating new image files. This is useful for matching your mod's theme or creating visual variety.
Applying Tints
1. Identify the texture component you want to tint (background panel, button, border, etc.)
2. Apply a color value to that element in your code
3. The mod will blend your chosen color with the base texture
4. Test different colors in-game to find the right look
5. Combine multiple tinted elements to create cohesive screen designs
You can tint individual buttons, panels, and decorative elements independently. This approach is much faster than editing separate image files for each color variation. The List Filter and Attribute Filter examples demonstrate effective color combinations you can adapt for your own screens. Experiment with complementary colors to make interactive elements stand out from static backgrounds.
