Improve Visibility in Caves and Dark Areas

Understand Ambient Lighting

Cloud S Shaders increases ambient light in caves and underground spaces so dark areas remain readable without sacrificing atmosphere. This is a core feature designed to balance mood with usability.

Adjust Ambient Light Settings

In the shader configuration menu, find the ambient light or cave brightness slider. Increase this value to make underground exploration easier, or decrease it if you prefer darker, more challenging caves. Changes apply instantly.

Use Torches Strategically

Torchlight now interacts more naturally with the shader's lighting system. Place torches to create focal points in caves—they'll illuminate more realistically than in vanilla Minecraft, making navigation intuitive.

Test at Different Times

Visit caves during both day and night to see how ambient settings affect visibility. Daytime caves may receive some light from surface openings, while night caves rely entirely on your ambient settings and placed light sources. Adjust accordingly for your preferred balance.
