Prevent server lag when teleporting to unexplored areas
Understand chunk preloading
Clean RTP Data Pack automatically preloads chunks before moving your character. This means the server loads terrain data in advance, preventing the freezing and crashes that normally occur when teleporting to ungenerated areas.
How it works automatically
When you use /trigger rtp, the data pack doesn't instantly teleport you. Instead, it loads all necessary chunks around your destination first, then safely moves you once everything is ready. This process happens seamlessly in the background.
Monitor server performance
During teleportation, you may notice a brief pause as chunks load. This is normal and expected—it's the data pack protecting your server. Avoid teleporting multiple players simultaneously if your server has limited resources, as each teleport requires chunk preloading.
Adjust distance if needed
If teleports still cause lag, consider reducing the teleport distance through /function clean_rtp:__config. Shorter distances mean fewer chunks to preload, resulting in faster, smoother teleportation.
