Why Custom Mobs Look Wrong or Fail to Load
Common Model and Animation Issues
When custom creatures don't render properly, Citadel Up's model loading system is often involved. Problems include missing textures, broken geometry, or creatures not appearing at all.
Diagnosis and Solutions
Creatures don't appear:
- Citadel Up may not have loaded before the dependent mod
- Restart your game completely (don't just reload worlds)
- Check that both mods are in the
modsfolder, not disabled
Models look distorted or have missing parts:
- The
.tblor.objmodel files may be corrupted during download - Re-download the dependent mod
- Verify the mod version matches your Minecraft version
Textures are missing or wrong:
- This is usually a texture pack or dependent mod issue, not Citadel Up
- Check if the dependent mod includes its own resource pack
Animations are jerky or freeze:
- Citadel Up handles animation data; low frame rates can cause stuttering
- Increase allocated RAM or reduce render distance
- Update to the latest compatible version of both mods
If issues persist, the dependent mod itself may need updating or support.
