Minimize Motion Sickness When Looking Around Quickly

Why This Shader Helps

Fish-eye distortion at the screen edges creates a disorienting effect when you turn your head or look around rapidly. The Panini projection straightens these warped areas, making camera movement feel more natural and reducing the dizziness that comes from playing at wide viewing angles.

Setup Steps

1. Enable the shader in your Video Settings → Shaders menu

2. Set your FOV to a comfortable level (80–100 is a good starting point if you're prone to motion sickness)

3. Test by turning your camera left and right; movement should feel smoother and less nauseating

4. If you still feel discomfort, lower your FOV slightly—the shader works best when not pushed to extreme angles

Additional Tips

  • Take breaks during long play sessions
  • Ensure your monitor is at eye level and arm's length away
  • The vanilla art style preservation means no jarring visual changes that could trigger sickness
  • This shader is lightweight, so it won't cause frame rate drops that might worsen nausea

The combination of reduced distortion and smooth performance makes extended play sessions much more comfortable.
