How to Find and Mine Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, and Sulfur Quartz

Locating the Ores

Rose Quartz Ore, Smoky Quartz Ore, and Sulfur Quartz Ore generate underground and are your entry point into the quartz progression. Mine each with a pickaxe to obtain Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, and Sulfur Quartz respectively. Sulfur Ore is a separate block that yields Sulfur, which feeds into the sulfur quartz chain rather than the quartz gems directly.

From Raw Quartz to Building Blocks

Once you have Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, or Sulfur Quartz in hand, you can craft the full family of decorative blocks for each color:

• Block of Rose Quartz, Block of Smoky Quartz, Block of Sulfur Quartz
• Rose Quartz Bricks, Smoky Quartz Bricks, Sulfur Quartz Bricks
• Rose Quartz Pillar, Smoky Quartz Pillar, Sulfur Quartz Pillar
• Rose Quartz Slab and Rose Quartz Stairs, plus the Smoky Quartz and Sulfur Quartz equivalents
• Chiseled Rose Quartz Block, Chiseled Smoky Quartz Block, Chiseled Sulfur Quartz Block

For a smoother finish, smelt the raw quartz or the block form to get Smooth Rose Quartz, Smooth Smoky Quartz, and Smooth Sulfur Quartz, each with matching Smooth slabs and stairs. Stonecutting is the fastest route for stairs, slabs, and pillars — feed a Block of Rose Quartz, Block of Smoky Quartz, or Block of Sulfur Quartz into a stonecutter and pick the shape you want. Blasting speeds up any smelting step.

Crystalline and Polypite Variants

Crystalline Rose Quartz, Crystalline Smoky Quartz, and Crystalline Sulfur Quartz are the higher-tier decorative forms, alongside Polypite Rose Quartz, Polypite Smoky Quartz, and Polypite Sulfur Quartz. Crystalline Quartz and Polypite Quartz are the base versions. Crystinium is the top-tier quartz material — save it for your best builds.
