Optimizing Foliage Animation Performance
Understanding Foliage Movement
Chroma Lite includes animated waving for leaves and ground plants, creating natural motion. This feature scales with your chosen quality profile but can be further tuned for performance.
Reducing Animation Strain
If foliage animation causes frame stuttering, try these steps:
- Lower your render distance in Video Settings. Fewer chunks means fewer animated leaves to process.
- Switch to a lower quality profile if you haven't already.
- Disable or reduce other visual features (like enhanced shadows) to free up GPU resources for animation.
Balancing Visuals and Speed
Foliage animation is most visible in forests and jungles. If these biomes cause lag spikes, consider temporarily reducing your render distance when exploring them. In open plains or deserts, animation has minimal impact, so you can safely increase render distance there.
Test changes by flying through a dense forest and watching your frame counter. Adjust incrementally until you find the sweet spot between smooth gameplay and visual appeal.
