Choosing the Right Quality Profile for Your PC
Assess Your Hardware
Before launching Minecraft, identify your system's capabilities. Check your GPU model and available VRAM—this shader pack offers four distinct profiles designed to match different hardware tiers.
Profile Selection Guide
Potato Profile: Use this if you have an older integrated GPU or very limited VRAM. Expect minimal visual enhancements but maximum stability.
Low Profile: Suitable for entry-level dedicated graphics cards. You'll see bloom effects and shadow rendering without major performance hits.
Medium Profile: Recommended for mid-range GPUs from the last 5–7 years. Enables fuller foliage animation and more detailed shadows.
High Profile: Best for newer graphics cards with adequate VRAM. Activates all visual features including enhanced bloom intensity and complex shadow calculations.
Applying Your Choice
Open the shader options menu in-game (typically accessed through Video Settings > Shaders). Look for the quality or profile selector. Switch between tiers and monitor your frame rate using F3 debug display. If frames drop below your target (usually 60 FPS), move down one profile. Once set, the changes apply immediately to your world.
