Using the Multimeter, Needles, Saw, and Watering Can
Reading Blocks with the Multimeter
The Multimeter inspects a block and reports its current state. Use it before chipping to record what you have, and after chipping to confirm the change. This prevents accidentally overwriting a variant you wanted to keep.
Needles, Saw, and Watering Can
Needles are used on blocks to apply fine detail changes. Hold the Needles and use them on a block the same way you would use the Chisel. The result is a different variant of that block.
The Saw works on blocks that need a cut or split treatment. Use it on a block to convert it into its sawed variant. As with the Chisel, the Saw acts on the targeted block and replaces it in place.
The Watering Can is used on blocks to apply a weathered or watered variant. Fill it, then use it on the target block. Each use changes the block to its watered state.
All four tools follow the same pattern: hold the tool, aim at a block, use it. None of them require a separate crafting recipe for the output — the tool itself is the conversion method. Keep the Multimeter in your hotbar so you can check results as you work.
