Producing Wood Variants: Planks, Barrels, Crates and Torches

Wood Family Outputs

Wood blocks feed into the Alchemy Bench the same way stone does. A single plank input can be converted into Acacia Planks Mosaic, Acacia Planks Panel, or Acacia Planks Shavings. These are decorative faces — use them for flooring accents, wall trim, or ceiling panels where you want texture variation without changing the wood type.

Beyond planks, the wood family also covers storage and lighting: Acacia Barrel, Acacia Crate, and Acacia Torch. Craft these when you want containers and light sources that match a build's palette instead of default oak.

Trapdoors

Trapdoor variants follow a naming pattern based on wood species: Airy Oak Trapdoor, Airy Spruce Trapdoor, Airy Birch Trapdoor, Airy Jungle Trapdoor, Airy Acacia Trapdoor, Airy Dark Oak Trapdoor, Airy Mangrove Trapdoor, Airy Crimson Trapdoor, and Airy Warped Trapdoor. Each is a distinct output, so if you are detailing a build with mixed species, craft the specific trapdoor you need rather than substituting.

Bookshelves

Oak bookshelves have several decorative forms: Ancient Oak Bookshelf, Ancient Oak Large Bookshelf, Ancient Cubed Oak Bookshelf, and Ancient Vertical Oak Bookshelf. These are useful for libraries and studies where a standard bookshelf looks too plain. Pick the shape that fits the wall — vertical for narrow columns, cubed for corner fills, large for feature walls.

Workflow

Stockpile plain planks and logs first. Convert them in batches at the bench, then sort outputs into chests by variant type so you can pull the right piece during a build without re-crafting.
