Crafting the Alchemy Bench

The Alchemy Bench is the core workstation for producing Chipped's decorative variants. Place it like any crafting station and interact with it to open its interface. The Alchemy Book is the companion item tied to this station; keep one on hand while working so you can reference available block families without leaving the bench.

Turning Base Blocks into Variants

Insert a base block plus the required catalyst into the bench to roll a decorative variant from that block's family. Every family in the mod follows the same pattern: one plain input block yields one themed output. For example, feeding in a plain stone-family block can return Andesite Bricks, Andesite Mini Tiles, Andesite Pillar, Andesite Pillar Top, Andesite Scales, Andesite Gravel, or Andesite Pointed Dripstone. Wood families behave the same way — an oak plank input can produce Acacia Planks Mosaic, Acacia Planks Panel, or Acacia Planks Shavings depending on which variant you select.

Practical Tips

• Batch your inputs. Since each craft consumes one base block, stack a full inventory of the plain block before starting a large build.
• Pillar and Pillar Top are separate outputs. If you are building columns, craft both so the top cap matches the shaft.
• Angry variants (Angry Andesite, Angry Bricks, Angry Deepslate, and similar) are their own outputs, not upgrades — pick them deliberately when you want that distressed look.
• Froglight variants such as Ad Astra Ochre Froglight, Ancient Verdant Froglight, and Ancient Pearlescent Froglight come from the same bench, so you do not need a separate station for light sources.
