Crafting the Alchemy Book and Organizing Your Chipped Workflow
Crafting the Alchemy Book
The Alchemy Book is made with a crafting_shapeless recipe. Place the ingredients anywhere in the crafting grid and take the Alchemy Book from the result slot. Because the recipe is shapeless, you do not need to memorize a pattern.
Building a Chipping Workflow
Set up a station with your tools in reach: Chisel, Multimeter, Needles, Saw, and Watering Can. Keep a chest of base blocks next to it so you can pull a stack, chip it into the variant you need, and place it without walking back and forth.
Use the Multimeter on every block you are unsure about. It tells you the current state, which is faster than comparing textures by eye.
When you need a specific variant, chip a base block with the matching tool: Chisel for general variants, Needles for fine detail, Saw for cut variants, Watering Can for watered variants. Each tool converts the targeted block in place.
The Alchemy Book is your reference item. Keep it in your station chest or inventory so you can check it while working. Combined with the Multimeter, it lets you confirm both what a block is and what it can become.
Store finished variants in labeled chests by material so you can grab the right block quickly during a build.
