Building Walls, Fences, and Thresholds for a Chinese Compound

Wall Blocks

Four wall families are available: Black Brick Wall, Rouge Brick Wall, Rammed Earth Wall, and White Ash Wall. Each pairs with a matching full block (Black Brick Block, Rouge Brick, Rammed Earth, White Ash Block) and often a slab and stairs variant. Lay a full block course at the base, then stack the wall block above it.

Fences

Andesite Fence, Diorite Fence, and Oak Chinese Fence are the three fence types. Oak Chinese Fence suits wooden courtyards; Andesite Fence and Diorite Fence suit stone perimeter walls. Place them on top of a low wall course so the fence reads as a railing rather than a standalone barrier.

Thresholds and Doors

1. Place Stone Threshold or Wooden Threshold at the base of every doorway opening.

2. Above the threshold, install Chinese Wooden Door, Chinese Oak Door, Chinese High Door, Wooden Window Door, or windowed door.

3. For tall gates, stack Upper Door Frame or Red Stained Wooden Planks Upper Door Frame above the door to reach the lintel.

4. Fill flanking wall segments with Oak Wall, Painted Wall, or Red Stained Wooden Planks Wall.

Windows

Diorite Window, Paper Window, Wooden Window, and Red Stained Wooden Planks Paper Window slot into wall gaps. Paper Window and Red Stained Wooden Planks Paper Window read as translucent screens; Diorite Window and Wooden Window read as solid frames.
