How to Open a Chest Cavity

Getting the Tools

You need a Cleaver to open a cavity. Cleavers come in Wooden Cleaver, Stone Cleaver, Iron Cleaver, Gold Cleaver, Diamond Cleaver, and Netherite Cleaver tiers. Craft the tier you can afford, then hold it and use it on the target.

A Chest Opener is the dedicated item for opening a cavity without a full cleaver swing. Keep one in your inventory when you plan to operate on yourself or another player.

Opening Yourself and Others

To open your own cavity, use the Chest Opener or a Cleaver on yourself. The cavity becomes accessible and you can place organs, meat, or components inside.

To open another player, stand within reach, aim at them, and use the Chest Opener or Cleaver. The other player must be a valid target and not already opened. Once open, you can insert or remove contents.

What You Can Insert

Organs and parts that fit a cavity include Saltwater Heart, Saltwater Lung, Saltwater Muscle, Golem Core, Golem Plating, Golem Cable, Piston Muscle, Inner Furnace, and the various Raw and Cooked meat and sausage items. Inserting a Golem Core with Golem Plating and Golem Cable builds toward a functional golem setup inside the cavity. Inserting an Inner Furnace lets the cavity smelt items placed inside it.

Close the cavity when finished. Reopening later uses the same tools.
