Survive Your First Night Against Latex Creatures

Immediate Shelter Setup

When you spawn, prioritize gathering wood and stone before dark. Latex creatures become active at night and will hunt you relentlessly. Build a simple enclosed shelter—even a 3×3 box of wood or stone is enough. Leave no gaps; these creatures can exploit small openings.

Essential First-Night Gear

Craft a basic wooden sword and pickaxe before nightfall. Mine stone to upgrade your pickaxe, then craft a stone sword—this gives you better damage output against early latex threats. Place torches around your shelter interior to prevent hostile spawns inside.

Do not venture into new biomes on your first night. Stay in your shelter and listen for creature sounds. If latex creatures find you, they will attempt to infect or transform you through contact.

Next Steps

Once morning arrives, scout nearby for abandoned structures. These contain better tools and armor that will significantly improve your survival chances. Avoid touching any suspicious glowing or discolored blocks—these spread contamination and pose direct threats to your character.
