Troubleshoot Visual Glitches and Color Issues

Common Visual Problems

If colors appear washed out, oversaturated, or incorrect:

1. Verify you've selected the correct preset for your preference

2. Check that the shader is actually enabled in your Video Settings

3. Try switching to a different preset temporarily, then back to your preferred one—this can reset the shader state

4. Ensure no conflicting resource packs are overriding the shader's colors

Performance-Related Visual Issues

If you see flickering, lag, or frame drops:

  • Switch to a lower-tier preset (potato if on low, low if on medium)
  • Reduce render distance
  • Disable other mods that affect rendering

Resetting to Defaults

If issues persist, reset your shader settings to default and reapply your preferred preset. The retro color palette should render consistently across all biomes and lighting conditions once properly configured.
