How to Make a Clay Bucket and Carry Fluids

Forming and Firing the Bucket

Craft a Clay Bucket from clay, then fire it in a Kiln to get a working Bucket. If the firing goes wrong you get a Cracked Empty Clay Bucket, which cannot hold fluid — refire or recraft it.

Moving Fluids

Fill your Bucket at any water or lava source and carry it to where you are building. To place fluid permanently, pour it into a Clay Cistern or a colored Terracotta Cistern / Porcelain Cistern. Cisterns store fluid in place, so you can fill a Clay Faucet or Terracotta Faucet / Porcelain Faucet from them and let it drain into a Clay Channel, Terracotta Channel, or Porcelain Channel to route it across your base.

Progression Notes

Start with Clay Channel, Clay Cistern, and Clay Faucet — these are the unfired-tier plumbing pieces you can make early. Fire them in the Kiln to upgrade to their Terracotta versions, and fire those again to reach Porcelain. Each tier holds and moves fluid the same way, so build the tier you can afford and upgrade later by refiring the pieces.
