Building a Kiln and Firing Clay and Porcelain

Building the Kiln

Place a Kiln block where you want your firing station. The Kiln is the only block that runs the ceramics:kiln recipe type, so all unfired ceramics must pass through it.

What to Fire

Load the Kiln with any unfired item to convert it:

• Unfired Porcelain → White Porcelain (then dye or use as-is)
• Unfired Cistern → Clay Cistern
• Unfired Channel → Clay Channel
• Unfired Faucet → Clay Faucet
• Clay Bucket → Bucket

Firing also works through normal smelting, so a furnace is a valid fallback if you have not built a Kiln yet. The Kiln is faster and is the intended path.

Colored Porcelain

Once you have White Porcelain, craft it into any of the colored Porcelain blocks: Black Porcelain, Blue Porcelain, Brown Porcelain, Cyan Porcelain, Gray Porcelain, Green Porcelain, Light Blue Porcelain, Light Gray Porcelain, Lime Porcelain, Magenta Porcelain, Orange Porcelain, Pink Porcelain, Purple Porcelain, Red Porcelain, and Rainbow Porcelain. Each colored Porcelain has a matching Porcelain Cistern, so you can color-code your fluid storage.
