Create Consistent Visuals Across Different Lighting
Understand Lighting Challenges
Outlines and colors can appear inconsistent between bright daylight, caves, and night. CelShade's flat colors may look washed out in bright light or too dark underground. Adjusting settings helps maintain the comic-book style everywhere.
Test in Multiple Environments
Visit several locations: a sunny surface area, a cave system, and night-time terrain. Observe how outlines and colors appear in each. Note which settings feel off-balance.
Adjust Contrast and Brightness
If your shader offers contrast or brightness sliders, increase contrast slightly to keep outlines visible in bright conditions. In caves, ensure the posterization doesn't make dark areas unreadable.
Fine-Tune Outline Visibility
Some versions let you adjust outline behavior based on lighting. Increase outline thickness slightly if they disappear in bright sun. Reduce posterization intensity in caves if colors become too muddy.
Iterate and Save
Make small adjustments and revisit test locations. Once outlines and colors feel balanced across daylight, caves, and night, save your configuration. Consistency improves immersion and readability.
