How to Get Started with the Microblock Workbench

Crafting the Workbench

The Microblock Workbench is your entry point into microblock construction. It is a block, so place it in the world before use. The recipe is a shaped crafting recipe (crafting_shaped), meaning the arrangement of ingredients in the crafting grid matters. Gather the ingredients required by the recipe and lay them out in the correct pattern in a crafting table to produce the Microblock Workbench.

Placing and Using It

Place the Microblock Workbench on the ground. Right-click it to open its interface. From here you convert full blocks into microblocks — smaller structural pieces that can be combined into detailed shapes. The workbench is the tool that turns ordinary blocks into the microblock form used by the Microblock Structure.

Why You Need Both Blocks

The Microblock Workbench and the Microblock Structure work as a pair. The Workbench produces the microblock pieces; the Microblock Structure is the block you place in the world to assemble and hold those pieces in a custom arrangement. Without the Workbench you cannot generate microblocks, and without the Structure you have nowhere to assemble them into a finished shape.

First Steps

1. Craft the Microblock Workbench using its shaped recipe.

2. Place it and open the interface.

3. Convert the blocks you want to build with into microblocks.

4. Craft and place a Microblock Structure to assemble the pieces into your design.

Start with a single block type to learn the conversion flow before moving on to complex multi-block builds.
