How to Handle Bucket Items in Carrots Library

Carrots Library registers nine bucket items. Each holds a different liquid and is used as an ingredient or intermediate in the mod's recipes.

The Bucket List

The buckets are: Cow Milk Bucket, Oat Milk Bucket, Honey Bucket, Tonic Bucket, Potable Water Bucket, Dirty Water Bucket, Liquid Xp Bucket, Seed Oil Bucket, and Squid Ink Bucket. Note that Cow Milk Bucket, Oat Milk Bucket, and Honey Bucket carry a status marker in the registry, distinguishing them from the plain buckets.

Water Variants

Potable Water Bucket and Dirty Water Bucket are two separate items. Do not treat them as interchangeable. If a recipe calls for Potable Water Bucket, a Dirty Water Bucket will not substitute. Keep them in separate chest slots or separate barrels so you do not grab the wrong one mid-craft.

Milk and Honey

Cow Milk Bucket and Oat Milk Bucket are distinct inputs. Honey Bucket is its own item as well. When a shaped recipe lists one of these, use exactly that bucket.

Special Liquids

Liquid Xp Bucket, Seed Oil Bucket, Squid Ink Bucket, and Tonic Bucket round out the set. These are used in the mod's shaped recipes where a liquid component is required.

Storage Advice

Label your storage. With nine near-identical bucket icons, misclicks are the main source of failed crafts. Use item frames on chests or separate barrels per liquid type. Before starting a shaped craft, lay all required buckets out on the grid-adjacent slots so you can verify each one.
