Throwing the Grappling Hook

The Grappling Hook is a travel tool. Aim it at a distant block and throw — it pulls you toward the anchor point, letting you cross gaps, climb cliffs, or escape mobs. It pairs well with the Rope Bridge Post and Rope Ladder for vertical and horizontal movement. Keep it in your Leather Pouch so it is always on hand.

Using Skipping Stones

Skipping Stone is a throwable item. Throw it across water to skip it along the surface. It is a light item, so stack several in your Day Pack or Camping Pack before a trip near rivers or lakes.

Combining tools for travel

Load out for exploration with the Grappling Hook, a stack of Skipping Stone, Rope, and a Rope Ladder. Use the Grappling Hook to reach high ledges, place a Rope Ladder to make the climb repeatable, and use Rope Bridge Posts to span gaps you cannot grapple across. Carry a Flare to mark your landing spots so you can find them again. Store everything in a Hiking Pack or Camping Pack so your hotbar stays free for a spear and food.
