Crafting spears

Spears come in four materials: Stone Spear, Iron Spear, Golden Spear, and Diamond Spear. Each is crafted from its base material plus a stick, following the standard tool pattern. The Stone Spear is your first craft; upgrade to Iron Spear once you have iron, then Diamond Spear for the top tier.

Netherite upgrade

Netherite Spear is not crafted at a table. It is produced through the smithing recipe type — combine a Diamond Spear with a Netherite Ingot at a Smithing Table to get the Netherite Spear. This is the only smithing recipe in the mod, so save your netherite for it.

Using spears in combat

Spears have longer reach than swords, letting you hit mobs before they close distance. Use the Stone Spear early against zombies and skeletons, then switch to Iron or Diamond as you progress. The Golden Spear trades durability for speed. Carry a spare spear in your Leather Pouch or Day Pack so you can swap mid-fight. Spears also work well from behind a Rope Bridge Post or tent wall, where you can strike through gaps.
