Build a Rope Bridge and Rope Ladder

Crafting the rope pieces

Rope is the base material for both the Rope Bridge Post and the Rope Ladder. Craft Rope first, then use it to make the bridge and ladder components. Keep a stack of Rope in your Hiking Pack so you can extend structures in the field.

Placing a rope bridge

1. Place a Rope Bridge Post on each side of the gap you want to cross.

2. Connect the posts with Rope to form the bridge span.

3. Walk across the rope to reach the far side.

Rope Bridge Posts anchor the bridge, so they must be placed on solid ground at both ends before you run the rope between them.

Placing a rope ladder

A Rope Ladder hangs vertically. Place it against a wall or cliff face and climb up or down. Use it to reach a tent platform, a cave entrance, or the top of a ravine. Combine a Rope Ladder with a Rope Bridge Post to make a full traversal setup: climb the ladder, cross the bridge, and continue. Carry spare Rope so you can repair or extend either structure without returning to base.
