How to Craft Honeycomb Doors and Trapdoors

Materials You Need

Honeycomb Door and Honeycomb Trapdoor are both crafted from honeycomb. Gather honeycomb from bee nests or beehives using shears, then bring it to a crafting table.

Crafting the Door

The Honeycomb Door follows the standard door recipe shape: a full column of honeycomb on the left and a full column on the right, filling a 2x3 arrangement. This yields multiple doors at once, so a single batch is enough for most builds.

Crafting the Trapdoor

The Honeycomb Trapdoor uses the standard trapdoor layout: a row of honeycomb across the top and a row across the bottom of a 3x2 grid. Like the door, this produces several trapdoors per craft.

Placing and Using Them

Place the Honeycomb Door on a solid block and open it by hand or with redstone. Place the Honeycomb Trapdoor on the top or bottom half of a block face; it opens upward or downward depending on placement. Both accept redstone signals, so you can wire them to buttons, levers, or pressure plates.

Matching Your Build

Honeycomb Doors and Trapdoors pair naturally with Honeycomb Bricks, Honeycomb Tiles, and their slab, stair, and wall variants. Use the door for entrances to honey-themed rooms and the trapdoor for floor hatches, ceiling access, or decorative panels. Because both are wooden-style blocks, they also fit rustic builds where you want a warmer tone than plain oak.
