How to Craft Candles and Candle Cakes

Candle Variants

Four candle blocks are available:

• Cupric Candle
• Ender Candle
• Soul Candle
• Cupric Candle Cake
• Ender Candle Cake
• Soul Candle Cake

Each candle is crafted at a crafting table from its themed ingredient plus a candle base. Cupric Candle uses copper-related material. Ender Candle uses ender-related material. Soul Candle uses soul-related material.

Candle Cakes

Candle Cakes combine a candle with a cake. Craft the plain cake first, then combine it with the matching candle at a crafting table to produce Cupric Candle Cake, Ender Candle Cake, or Soul Candle Cake. Place the cake and light the candle on top for a decorative centerpiece.

Placing and Lighting

Place any candle on a solid block. Light it with flint and steel or a fire charge. Candles can be placed in groups on the same block for a clustered look. Candle Cakes are placed as a single block and the candle sits on the cake.

Themed Uses

Cupric Candle and Cupric Candle Cake suit copper-heavy builds and industrial rooms. Ender Candle and Ender Candle Cake fit dark, magical, or end-themed spaces. Soul Candle and Soul Candle Cake work in soul-themed or nether-inspired builds. All three candle types emit light and can be extinguished by hand.

Pairing With Other Blocks

Combine candles with Honeycomb Bricks, Honeycomb Tiles, and Crystallized Honey Block for warm interiors, or with Honeycomb Doors and Honeycomb Trapdoors for themed rooms. Candle Cakes double as both decoration and a placed cake block, so they work well on dining tables and in celebration builds.
