How to Slaughter Animals and Get Raw Meat in ButcherCraft
Tools You Need
Craft a Butcher Knife, Gutting Knife, or Bone Saw before approaching any animal. The Butcher Knife handles standard slaughter, the Gutting Knife is used for opening carcasses to reach organs, and the Bone Saw lets you break down larger cuts. Wear the Butcher's Apron, Butcher's Gloves, Butcher's Boots, and Butcher's Mask while working so you can process animals without interruption.
From Animal to Cuts
Kill a cow, pig, sheep, goat, chicken, or rabbit with the appropriate knife. The carcass yields raw components such as Beef Block, Pork Block, Lamb Block, Goat Block, Chicken Block, or Rabbit Block, plus organ items like Liver, Heart, Kidney, Lung, Stomach, Intestines, Brain, Eyeball, Tongue, and Oxtail. Use the Gutting Knife on the carcass to pull out the organs, then switch to the Bone Saw to reduce the block into smaller cuts: Ribs, Roast, Scraps, Stew Meat, and Cubed variants for each animal type. Ground meat comes from running scraps through the Grinder.
Blood and Byproducts
Place a Bottle of Blood or Bucket of Blood near the kill to collect blood as you work. Blood feeds into Blood Sausage Mix, which you later link into Linked Blood Sausage. Hide and fat become Leather Cord, Lard, and Gelatin depending on which animal you processed. Store raw cuts in a cool place or cook them promptly — raw Beef Block and similar blocks are ingredients, not finished food.
