Using the Iron Chisel

What the Iron Chisel Does

The Iron Chisel is the tool for shaping decorative blocks in this mod. It is used alongside the mod's block sets, including the stone and mineral families such as Andesite, Calcite, Deepslate, Diorite, Dripstone, Granite, Tuff, Prismarine, Sandstone, and Stone Bricks, as well as the wood plank types. Keep it in your hotbar while you build so you can switch block appearances without leaving the site.

Chiseling Workflow

Place the block you want to work with, then use the Iron Chisel on it to change its appearance. Work block by block along a wall or floor so the pattern stays even. If you are detailing a room, chisel a few blocks at a time and step back to check the look before continuing.

Pairing with Stairs and Slabs

Chiseled blocks combine well with the stair and slab variants of the same material. For a Calcite wall, chisel some Calcite blocks and fill edges with Calcite Stairs and Calcite Slab. For a Prismarine floor, chisel Prismarine and border it with Prismarine Stairs and Prismarine Slab. Carry spare blocks of the base material so you can replace any block you chisel into a look you do not want.
