Building with Industrial and Laboratory Blocks

The Two Theme Blocks

Industrial and Laboratory are decorative blocks for themed builds. Industrial Flat is a flat variant of Industrial, useful where you want a smoother surface. These blocks are not part of the stone or wood families, so they stand on their own as a distinct style.

Planning an Industrial Build

Use Industrial for walls, floors, and machine-like structures, and Industrial Flat where you want a cleaner panel look, such as ceilings or large floor sections. Because there are no stair or slab variants for these blocks, plan corners and edges using full blocks and let the flat variant handle broad surfaces. Combine Industrial and Industrial Flat in alternating bands to suggest panels or piping.

Planning a Laboratory Build

Use Laboratory for clean, bright interiors. Line walls with Laboratory and use Industrial Flat for floors to separate the two themes visually. Since neither block has stairs or slabs, build steps and ledges from other materials in the mod, such as Stone Bricks with Stone Brick Stairs and Stone Brick Slab, or Andesite with Andesite Stairs and Andesite Slab.

Mixing Themes

Industrial and Laboratory work well together in the same build. Use Laboratory for the main room and Industrial for side rooms, storage areas, or machine bays. Keep a stock of both blocks plus Industrial Flat so you can adjust surfaces as the build grows.
