Choosing Between High and Basic Versions for Your System
Understand the Trade-offs
Brunozamp's Foliage offers two versions to match your hardware. The High version applies detailed 3D models to all foliage—leaves, flowers, mushrooms, cacti, bamboo, and vines—creating maximum visual richness. The Basic version focuses exclusively on leaf improvements, skipping the decorative enhancements to mushrooms, cacti, and other ground plants.
How to Choose
Use High if:
- Your system runs Minecraft smoothly at your preferred render distance
- You want the full visual transformation across all plant types
- You're playing in smaller worlds or with fewer players
Use Basic if:
- You experience frame rate drops with heavy resource packs
- You're on a lower-end GPU or older processor
- You primarily care about tree canopy improvements
- You're playing on a server with many players
Testing Your Choice
After installing either version, spend 10–15 minutes exploring a forest biome. Watch your frame counter and note any stuttering. If performance is smooth, you can safely use High. If you see drops below your target FPS, switch to Basic and re-test.
