Optimize Shader Performance on Low-End Hardware

Checking Your Frame Rate

Bright Pixels Shaders is designed for budget computers, but you can further optimize performance. First, check your current FPS by enabling the debug screen with F3 (or Fn + F3 on some laptops). Note your average frames per second.

Reducing Shader Load

1. Open Video Settings → Shader Options

2. Look for Shadow Quality or Shadow Distance settings

3. Lower these values to reduce shadow calculations

4. Disable any optional visual effects if available

5. Return to the game and monitor FPS with F3

Graphics Settings Adjustments

Beyond shader options, also reduce:

  • Render Distance (lower values = faster rendering)
  • Particles (set to Minimal)
  • Graphics mode (set to Fast)
  • Smooth Lighting (toggle to Off if needed)

These changes work alongside the shader to keep your frame rate smooth. The shader's vanilla-style design means it won't add excessive visual complexity even at lower settings.
