Make Torches and Light Sources Look Better

Understand Colored Light Behavior

Bright Flow Lite automatically assigns warm colors to torches, lanterns, and other light sources. These colors spread realistically through adjacent blocks, creating an orange or amber glow in dark spaces.

Place Torches Strategically for Best Effect

Position torches where you want warm light to spread. In caves, place them on walls or ceilings so the colored glow illuminates the surrounding area. The effect is most visible in dark environments.

Combine Different Light Sources

Mix torches with glowstone, lanterns, or other light blocks to see how Bright Flow Lite renders multiple colored light sources together. Different blocks may cast slightly different tones, creating natural-looking ambient lighting.

Adjust Shader Settings for Light Spread

If colored light spreads too far or not far enough, return to shader settings and look for light radius or falloff options. Increasing these makes torchlight reach further; decreasing them keeps light more localized.

Compare Before and After

Toggle the shader off temporarily (if your launcher allows) to see vanilla lighting, then re-enable it to appreciate the colored lighting enhancement.
