Growing Trees in Botany Pots

Planting a sapling

A Botany Pot can grow trees. Place the pot, open its interface, add soil, then put a sapling in the seed slot. The pot grows the tree in place rather than spawning a full-size tree in the world, so you do not need open space above it.

Harvesting the output

When the tree matures, the pot harvests it and produces the tree's drops — logs, saplings and other items the tree would normally yield. You collect these from the pot's output, or automatically if you are using a Hopper Botany Pot.

Choosing a pot variant for tree farming

For a tree farm you will usually want automatic output, so craft a hopper variant:

• Hopper Botany Pot — the plain hoppered pot.
• Brick Hopper Botany Pot, Deepslate Brick Hopper Botany Pot or End Stone Brick Hopper Botany Pot — material variants.
• Any colour hopper pot, such as Green Hopper Botany Pot or Lime Hopper Botany Pot.

Waxed hopper variants like Brick Waxed Hopper Botany Pot work the same way with the waxed finish. Because the hopper is part of the block, you can line pots up in a row and let each one push its logs and saplings out on its own. Replant a sapling after each harvest to keep the cycle going.
