Gathering Basic Resources

Begin by crafting a Lexica Botania, the guide book. It is made from a book and a sapling. Use it to look up recipes. Next, gather flowers from the world. You will need petals of various colors. Craft a Petal Apothecary using cobblestone and petals. Fill it with water using a Bowl of Water. Then craft a Pure Daisy using the Apothecary. Place the Pure Daisy to convert logs into Livingwood and stone into Livingrock.

Crafting Your First Generating Flower

Use Livingwood and Livingrock to craft a Mana Spreader and a Mana Pool. Then craft a generating flower such as the Agricarnation or Bellethorne using the Petal Apothecary. Place the flower near your Mana Pool and the Mana Spreader to direct mana. Once you have mana, you can craft a Runic Altar and begin making runes. Runes are used in many advanced recipes. Continue following the Lexica Botania for progression. Focus on building a steady mana supply before expanding. The Wand of the Forest is also useful for rotating blocks and checking mana levels.
