How to Craft a Boat with Chest in the Boat Container Mod

Pick Your Wood Type

Every overworld wood variant has a chest version: Oak Boat with Chest, Spruce Boat with Chest, Birch Boat with Chest, Jungle Boat with Chest, Acacia Boat with Chest, Dark Oak Boat with Chest, Cherry Boat with Chest, and Mangrove Boat with Chest. Bamboo uses Bamboo Raft with Chest instead. Gather the matching planks and a vanilla chest before you start.

Crafting Steps

1. Craft a plain boat (or raft) from your chosen wood.

2. Combine that boat with a chest in a crafting grid to produce the matching Boat with Chest.

3. Place it on water and right-click to open the storage inventory.

The chest boat behaves like a normal boat for movement but carries items. Break it with an axe to recover the boat and its contents. Use it for hauling mining loot across oceans or ferrying supplies between bases without shulker boxes.

When to Use It

Chest boats are the lightest storage transport in the mod. For long journeys where you also want to smelt or access ender storage on the water, upgrade to a Boat with Furnace or Boat with Ender Chest instead.
