Adjust Shader Quality to Match Your Computer's Performance
Access the Shader Settings
Open the Shader Options menu from your Video Settings. Look for the shader control panel—this is where all visual adjustments live.
Choose Your Quality Tier
The shader offers multiple quality presets ranging from low to high. Start by selecting a preset that matches your hardware:
- Low: Best for older computers and potato PCs. Reduces shadow detail and lighting complexity while keeping the core visual improvements.
- Medium: A balanced option for mid-range systems. Maintains soft shadows and natural lighting without heavy performance cost.
- High: For newer computers. Enables full shadow detail and advanced lighting calculations.
Fine-Tune Individual Settings
If a preset doesn't feel quite right, you can adjust individual options:
- Shadow softness and distance
- Lighting intensity
- Water reflection quality
- Sky color processing
Test and Monitor
After changing settings, play for a few minutes and watch your frame rate. If you see stuttering or lag, drop to a lower quality tier. The goal is smooth gameplay with visual enhancement—not the prettiest settings at the cost of performance.
