Adjust Shadow Intensity for Your Setup
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key (usually accessed through your video settings or shader menu). Look for shadow-related sliders or toggles.
Fine-Tune Shadow Depth
If your Mac is experiencing frame drops, reduce shadow intensity or distance. Lower values create softer, less detailed shadows but improve performance on older hardware. Higher values add more definition to shadows cast by trees, buildings, and terrain features.
Balance Visibility in Dark Areas
This shader is designed to keep caves and indoor spaces readable even with shadows enabled. If caves feel too dark, slightly increase ambient lighting or reduce shadow contrast rather than disabling shadows entirely. This preserves the atmospheric effect while maintaining usability.
Test Your Changes
After adjusting settings, spend time in different environments—bright daylight, dense forests, and underground caves. This helps you find the sweet spot between visual quality and performance that works for your specific Mac model.
