Optimize Performance on Low-End Systems
Reduce Render Distance
Lower your render distance in Video Settings. Bloomy Shaders performs best at 8-12 chunks on potato PCs. This reduces the area the shader must process each frame.
Disable Unnecessary Features
Access shader options and disable or minimize:
- Advanced shadow rendering
- Volumetric effects (if available)
- Extra lighting passes
- High-resolution texture filtering
Lower Resolution Settings
Reduce your game resolution in Video Settings if frame rate remains poor. Running at 1280×720 instead of 1920×1080 significantly improves performance without major visual loss.
Monitor Frame Rate
Enable the FPS counter (F3 key by default) to track performance. Aim for stable 30+ FPS during normal gameplay. If you dip below this, reduce render distance or shadow quality further.
Allocate More RAM
If using a launcher, increase allocated RAM to your Minecraft instance. Even potato PCs benefit from 2-4GB dedicated to the game, reducing stuttering and lag spikes.
