Adjust Shadow Quality and Brightness
Access Shader Settings
Open your shader options menu while in-game. This is typically found in Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options, though the exact path depends on your launcher.
Tweak Shadow Parameters
Look for shadow-related sliders such as:
- Shadow Distance: Controls how far shadows render from your character. Reducing this improves performance on lower-end systems.
- Shadow Softness: Adjusts the blur and smoothness of shadow edges. Lower values create sharper, more defined shadows.
- Shadow Intensity: Controls how dark shadows appear in your world.
Brighten Your World
Find brightness or exposure controls:
- Brightness/Exposure: Increases overall scene brightness without washing out colors.
- Ambient Light: Boosts light in shadowed areas to prevent overly dark caves and interiors.
Test Your Changes
After adjusting settings, move to different locations—caves, forests, and open areas—to see how shadows and lighting respond. Revert any changes that cause performance drops or visual artifacts. Save your preferred configuration once satisfied.
