How to Craft and Use Runes on the Blood Altar

Getting Blank Runes

Every rune starts from a Blank Rune. Craft Blank Runes first, then upgrade them into the specific rune you need. Runes are placed in the blocks directly adjacent to a Blood Altar to modify its behavior.

The Rune Types

• Blank Rune — the base rune, no special effect on its own.
• Acceleration Rune — makes the Blood Altar craft faster.
• Charging Rune — changes how the Altar charges.
• Displacement Rune — changes how items are moved into and out of the Altar.

Placing Runes

Put runes in the ring of blocks touching the Blood Altar. Each rune you add stacks its effect. If you want faster crafting, fill the surrounding positions with Acceleration Rune. If you want different item handling, use Displacement Rune.

Why Runes Matter

A bare Blood Altar is slow and limited. Runes are how you tune it. Build a set of Blank Runes first, then convert them into the rune type that matches the job you are doing. Keep spare Blank Runes on hand so you can swap rune types as your needs change.

Materials

Runes are crafted items, so gather the ingredients before you start. Once you have a stack of Blank Runes, you can convert them one by one into Acceleration, Charging, or Displacement Runes depending on which effect you want around your Altar.
