Make the Dithering Pattern Less Noticeable
Reducing Dithering Visibility
If the dithering dots are too obvious or distracting, you can make them smaller or adjust how transparent faded blocks become.
Steps
1. Open the Block Dithering Mod settings menu
2. Find the Pixel Size slider and drag it left to make dots smaller (more subtle pattern)
3. Find the Minimum Visibility slider and adjust it to control the lowest opacity level
- Drag left to allow blocks to fade almost completely transparent
- Drag right to keep faded blocks more opaque
4. Walk near blocks to preview changes in real-time
5. Fine-tune until the effect feels natural
Balancing Visibility and Aesthetics
- Smaller pixels create a finer, less obvious dithering pattern
- Higher minimum visibility keeps faded blocks more solid, reducing the "see-through" effect
- Combine both settings: smaller pixels + slightly higher visibility often feels best
- Test with different block types—stone and wood may look different than glass
Tips
- Very small pixel sizes may impact performance on older systems
- Minimum visibility prevents blocks from becoming completely invisible, maintaining depth perception
