Using the Bonesburrier, Cold Digger, and Stripminer

Three Blast blocks do excavation work for you: Bonesburrier, Cold Digger, and Stripminer. Each is a placed block rather than a thrown explosive.

Placing them

Craft the block you want, then place it against the terrain you intend to work. Bonesburrier, Cold Digger, and Stripminer all sit in the world as blocks and act on the area around them. Position them at the face of the material you want removed so the effect reaches the blocks you care about.

What each is for

Stripminer is the one to reach for when you want a tunnel or a long cleared line — place it and let it strip through the rock. Cold Digger handles cold work, useful where you are dealing with ice or frozen ground. Bonesburrier is the block for bone material and related excavation.

Practical order

Clear a safe standing area first, then place the machine block at the working face. Keep your inventory ready to collect what drops. If a block stops producing results, break it and reposition it against fresh material. Do not stand directly in front of the working face while it runs — treat it like any other Blast explosive and stay clear of the area it is affecting.
