Choosing Between Regular Bombs and Trigger Bombs

Blast gives you two families of explosive: plain Bombs and Trigger Bombs. Picking the right one changes how you place and fire it.

Plain Bombs

Bomb, Amethyst Bomb, Confetti Bomb, Diamond Bomb, Dirt Bomb, Frost Bomb, Golden Bomb, Pearl Bomb, Slime Bomb, and Pipe Bomb are the standard explosives. You craft them, place them, and they go off on their own. Use these when you want to drop something and walk away, or when the fuse timing does not matter.

Trigger Bombs

Amethyst Trigger Bomb, Confetti Trigger Bomb, Diamond Trigger Bomb, Dirt Trigger Bomb, Frost Trigger Bomb, Golden Trigger Bomb, Pearl Trigger Bomb, Slime Trigger Bomb, and the base Trigger Bomb are fired on command rather than on a fuse. Pair them with the Remote Detonator block to set them off from a distance.

Which to pick

If you are mining out a room and want a chain of explosions to run while you keep working, plain Bombs are simpler. If you need the blast to happen at a precise moment — after you have cleared the area, or as part of a trap — use a Trigger Bomb with the Remote Detonator. Both families share the same themed variants, so you can match the material you want to the firing method you need.
