Optimize Performance on Low-End Hardware
Reduce Render Distance
BitNixelet is designed for budget PCs, but performance depends on your system. Start by lowering render distance in Video Settings to 8–12 chunks if you experience frame drops.
Disable Heavy Shader Features
Access shader options and look for toggles related to:
- Volumetric Lighting – Disable if causing lag
- Reflections – Turn off water or block reflections
- Ambient Occlusion – Reduces shadow detail but improves FPS
- Shadow Quality – Lower from high to medium or low
Monitor Frame Rate
Use F3 debug screen to watch your FPS. Aim for stable 60+ FPS by disabling features one at a time rather than all at once. This helps you find the right balance between visuals and performance.
Verify Iris Compatibility
Ensure you're using a compatible Iris loader version. BitNixelet works best with current Iris builds on modern Minecraft versions.
